Children between the ages of 3 and 12 can be referred for play therapy sessions for a wide range of difficulties and circumstances. Sessions can be held in school, at the same time and place each week if there is an appropriate room, or sometimes I can arrange to use a room in a therapy centre where children can be brought either during the school day or after school. The following list shows some of the reasons that a child might be referred:

  • Bereavement
  • Parental separation/divorce
  • Health-related issues
  • Anxiety
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Friendship issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Depression
  • Peer pressure
  • Sleep problems
  • Communication difficulties
  • School-related problems
  • Traumatic experiences
  • Abuse
  • Domestic violence
